Future and Inceptive (ka)

Ka (Wā Heke Mai)

About this concept

The particle 'ka' marks future or inceptive aspect (about to happen). 'Ka haere au āpōpō' (I will go tomorrow). Also used in sequential narration: 'ka...ka...' (and then...and then).

Examples

Ka haere au āpōpō.I will go tomorrow.
Ka tīmata te hui ā te toru karaka.The meeting will start at three o'clock.
