نفی با «ن»

About this concept

Verbs are negated by adding the prefix ن (ne- before present stems, na- before past stems). نیست nist negates است. Stress shifts to the negation prefix.

Examples

نمی‌روم. (namiravam)I don't go. (ne + mi + ravam)

نخواندم. (nakhāndam)I didn't read.

او ایرانی نیست.He/She is not Iranian.
